1 A FamilySearch.org entry says they were married in 1842 in New York. Family: F559

2 A FamilySearch.org record indicates George's first wife died in September 1855, so their marriage could not have taken place before then. Family: F10

3 Also six Amundson grandchildren: Carl, Anthony, Deborah, Phillip, Rebecca and Miram, but not clear which son they each are children of. (MM p.275) Family: F469

4 Although Mellow Memoirs lists their wedding as taking place at the Morristown Baptist Church, the original invitation lists the event as occurring at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Hand. Family: F6

5 Although the book "The Austins of Syracuse" lists their date of marriage as 14 Dec 1910, this does not corroborate with the 1910 census, which lists them as married already in April 1910. Family: F551

6 Apparently either the divorce was not made official, there was an enumeration error in 1910, or they re-married, as Annie is enumerated as Isaac's wife in 1920, and she is buried with him. Family: F1293

20 Family information via MM p.123. Family: F384

21 From MM p.29 it is unclear which (if any) of the children are from the marriage of James and Esther, and which (if any) are from the marriage of James and Elizabeth. Further, "last 3 not verified" notes the same page (presumably meaning Mary, Esther and Rebecca). Family: F323

22 Gertrude's cemetery record notes that she is "m/o Gladys J." but no details are given about the daughter.

There is a marriage record for a Gladys Jane Hemphill, m. Sydney Keith Tomilson on 5 Jul 1958 in Woodstock, Carleton Co... that might be her.
Family: F1240

23 Given the age of James Jr., the marriage probably occurred in either 1850 or 1851. Family: F205

39 Henry and Mary show up twice in the 1860 census -- once with Mary's family in Hastings (enumerated on 8 Aug 1860 -- where they are listed with the surname Austin, but noted as being married within the year), and once with Mary's aunt Charity Hoyt in Syracuse (enumerated on 24 Jul 1860 -- where they are listed with the Wilkie surname, and also noted as being married within the year.)

This was apparently caused by the instruction to enumerators that they list "The name of every person whose usual place of abode on the first day of June, 1860, was in this family", and based on bible records Henry and Mary were not married until the first of July, 1860.
Family: F19

40 Hugh's obituary states he had eleven children by his first (unnamed) wife (MM p.173) Family: F396

41 Hugh's obituary states he had ten children by his second wife, Mary Lillie Holiday (MM p.173), but six died young, with only four surviving beyond 1854, when the family moved to Cainsville, Missouri. (MM p.175) Family: F393

42 In 1930 census, Frank and Lulu also housed two young children (listed as lodgers):
Dean Landick, male, age 4, born in MN
Bernard Norton, male, age 1 6/12, born in MN
Family: F94

43 In 1930, although they are both still enumerated as Married, Whitney is enumerated as a boarder in a separate household. Family: F758

44 In both the 1900 and 1910 censuses, the family is listed as having 12 children, but only 9 still living. One would fit into the gap between Zelotes and Jesse, and the other might have been the twin of one who was still living at that time. Family: F715

45 In Catherine's death notice she is listed as the third daughter of James and Eliza. Family: F1268

46 In Dunlap's interview with Jacob J. Vogt, Jacob mentions that he met his wife Catharine by way of her sister Sophia, who was tending to Martin's household while his first wife was sick and dying. Family: F688

47 In the 1865 census, their house is described as a frame dwelling with a value of 1000. Family: F1123

48 Inexplicably, in the 1900 census, Anna is enumerated as the head of household and married for 12 years, but Isaac is at the bottom of the household with no designated relation to the head-of-household and is listed as single.

In 1910, they are both listed as divorced, but still enumerated in the same household (still with Anna as head, and Isaac this time as husband, but that word is then struck-through), and in 1920 they are listed as married and Isaac is head of household. However, there is no record of their marriage in the Maine Marriage Index, which means they were either married out-of-state or before the index started in 1891 (and in 1900 Anna is listed as being married for 12 years.)

The quirkiness of 1900 could potentially be explained by Isaac's listed occupation of "salesman ship (illeg.)", so perhaps he is working at sea and thus Anna is the head but they realized he still needed to be listed.
Family: F1293

49 It is not specified which (if any) of the nine children of Benjamin are children of him with Elizabeth, and which (if any) are children of him with Eleanor. (MM p.28) Family: F320
